Indiana Governor Candidates
I hear lots of people talking about the presidential candidates, but this year the office of governor for Indiana is also up for election. The incumbent Republican is running for re-election, but I haven't heard much about the remaining Democrat candidates: Jill Long Thompson and Jim Schellinger. Does anyone know anything about them?

(I may regret asking this...)

I don't have any real knowledge either, but I'm still stuck on being a one issue voter. Mitch made me change my clocks and made putting my kids to bed harder than it was before. (it's light out daddy, it's not bed time)

No kidding. Mitch has obviously never tried to put a 3 year old to bed at 9:00 PM while it's still very bright out. Parents with small children should be a very easy demographic to woo away from him.

Not much time to actually post on this, but I appreciate the fact that Jill's site actually has some interesting information about her positions, opinions, etc. Jim's site left me a little... less impressed.

That also sums up my opinion of the Democratic candidates, so far. :\

I don't agree with most of Mitch's ideas, attitudes, policies, etc., but that was true the first time around, also. :) His blind implementation of DST without consideration of the timing or costs imposed upon the companies that had to deal with it - or the stress it caused those of us who had the projects suddenly thrown at us (I could go on about that one for a few posts) - was just the tip of the iceberg...

And why would you regret asking? ;)

I voted for Jill in early voting last week. I voted for her in the primary because I thought she'd have the best chance of getting Mitch out of office. (The lesser of evils?) Purdue had an early polling station a couple of blocks from me, and I wanted to weigh in on president... My first time doing that! Otherwise I probably wouldn't have really cared who went against Daniels.

Also, in the world of being snarky, I saw a campaign commercial for Gov. Daniels, which touted him "solving problems without raising taxes". On what planet? Let's see... my property taxes went up. Sales tax went up. (Twice, I think, while he's been in office.) The governor's campaign motto should be "Vote Mitch! He hasn't raised taxes... in the last three weeks!")

I'm sorry for polluting your blog with political snarkiness.
