06:01 am - Battle in the Attic

Last night, as I went to bed, I kept hearing scuffling and thumping noises in the attic, and the occasional snarl. And it never stopped, no matter how much I thumped on the ceiling. We ended up sleeping (if you can call it that) downstairs on the couch.

I think we've upgraded our squirrel problem to a raccoon problem. Today we're calling animal control, hopefully they can recommend someone better than the last guy who came out. He charged us a few hundred dollars and didn't manage to do anything other than convince the squirrels to make new entrances to the attic (at least one of which is presumably much larger now...).
