100 Stories #1: Jakob and Johan
When Aesa became king, Prince Jakob and his friend Johan plotted to put Jakob in his evil brother's place. Johan was caught. Jakob crept into the dungeons to rescue him. Torture had ruined Johan's legs. Jakob prepared to carry him out, though they'd certainly be caught.

"Jakob," Johan asked, "what will happen to our people if I die?"

"When they were free I would erect a great memorial so they would know what a hero you were."

"Jakob," Johan asked, "what will happen to our people if you die?"

While Jakob pondered, Johan stole his knife.

The memorial was glorious.

Thank you. I'm scared that I can't come up with 99 more, but I think that's the best reason for doing it. I've always wanted to write but never felt I had a good enough thing to write about: I'm hoping this exercise will get me past that.

And given yesterday's events, tomorrow's story was all too easy to draft this morning.
